Quiltessential Co. Class
Registration Policy
· Register
early as space is limited and classes fill up very quickly. Keep checking with Quiltessential Co. as more dates may open up on
demand. All efforts to contact students are made in case of cancellations or
minor changes in supplies etc. Please give us your daytime phone number and
remember to mark your dates down for classes, as we cannot make reminder calls.
· Payments must be made at the time of the registration, no spots are held
without payment. Sorry, NO REFUNDS
are given on registration fees. Credits are given only if you cancel within 14
days of the first class or orientation. You can always send a friend in your
place… Class fees will be refunded if minimum enrolment is not met and we are
forced to cancel a class.
· Your machine must be in good working order and you must know how to
operate it, please bring your manual. Supply
lists for classes are given at the time of registration, and are on our web
site. If there is an orientation, we prefer that you purchasing supplies after attending, as we will be giving
out additional supply information at that time. Please come prepared to class,
as it will make your time and the other student’s time more productive. If you need supplies we are offering
them at the best price possible. Please come during store hours to pick up
supplies, so that you are prepared and we can start the class on time. Classes
start promptly at the times indicated.
· Good instructors put a lot of effort into class preparation. Many times
their creations are original and you are not asked to buy their patterns,
rather they are given freely with the class instruction. If a commercial
pattern is used or a kit is required, we give the class a preferred price. We
try to keep the class sizes small enough for you to get full enjoyment of each
class experience. Patterns given out in class are property of Quiltessential
and cannot be used for teaching or copying purposes elsewhere.
Class Supplies:
Listed below
is a general supply list for each class. If there is no orientation, please
bring these items to class.
·
Our new classroom has
beautiful hardwood floors, to help keep your quilting projects clean while we
work you MUST bring indoor shoes for the classroom – we only have a few
extra slippers if you forget yours.
·
To
help our busy students, the store is open until 6 pm, so if you come early to
class you can purchase the supplies you need before class. Classes all start on time, so come extra early if you
need to shop or pick out fabrics.
·
Many
classes have an orientation. In order that you purchase the best supplies
needed for your class, we recommend that you purchase supplies after the orientation. These supplies
are available at Quiltessential Co. at the best prices we can offer.
·
Don’t
forget to bring your machine
(well-maintained) to class, and your machine manual, unless the instructor
specifically says that you don’t need it during the orientation.
·
Every
student must bring all supplies to class. To maintain the
pace of instruction in the class we cannot have students sharing equipment – it
makes it too slow for the other class members.
Unfortunately we are unable to lend supplies to our students, as we are
using them in the store or are demonstrating with them. If you accidentally
forget your supplies we have one very
basic tool kit that we can rent for $15. This includes a mat, rotary
cutter, and ruler – you get to keep the rotary cutter blade.
·
Due
to copyright laws, photocopies of patterns or books are not permissible. We do
give a pattern or book discount to all students in classes. Where possible we
design many of our patterns and notes and include them with the class
instruction.
·
We
often make tea or coffee, so please bring
a mug to use while you are here.
